NESEE, from the perspective of a new generation of scientists, works out an agenda of topics that is regarded as central for the future development of this world region and indicates possible ways how to meet those challenges of tomorrow.
The Kick-off Conference took place in the time February 23-25, 2006 in Romania at the University “1 Decembrie 1918” Alba Iulia in the context of the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe of the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD from Bonn, Germany and with the strong support of the University of Technology Clausthal from Germany.
In this network NESSEE are already represented several countries from South-Eastern Europe: Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia. Germany has the role of advisor in the process of building up the network and of starting the concrete activities.
Presently the activity of the network NESSEE is concentrated on the 2 projects defined during the Kick-off conference:
1. Sustainability Monitoring and Strategies South Eastern Europe
2. Education for Sustainability on university level in South Eastern Europe.
